Well, here it is, the end of February and spring just around the corner for most of you. For us here in PNW, spring is already here! Thanks to "El Nino", we have had a very mild month as evident if you have been following the Olympic coverage in Vancouver, Canada. They have had unusually warm weather with slushy rain mix really playing havoc with all the skiing events! I find it interesting that the Olympic personnel having been spraying nitrogen fertilizer over the snow venues to "harden" the snow pack for the downhill skiiers! Even using dry ice in special tubes to hold up the moguls for competition.
Picture today is of a herd of elk in the field right behine our house. There were even four spikes in the herd, probably from last year's offspring. We always are thrilled to see these animals are they are quite impressive in size!
Plum trees are in full bloom and as I walked around the yard, I noticed tulips and irises starting to come up too. The honey bees are out and collecting pollen from the willow tree too.
Welcome March! Glad to see winter giving way to spring.
