Got olive oil in your kitchen? Then you have an excellent skin mosturizer! I recommend Virgin or Extra Virgin oil. Virgin means the oil was produced by the use of physical means and no chemical treatment.
Extra-virgin olive oil comes from virgin oil production only, contains no more than 0.8% acidity, and is judged to have a superior taste and is the lightest of the two. Extra Virgin olive oil accounts for less than 10% of oil in many producing countries.
With the harsh chilling days of winter upon us, mosturize your skin with just a few drops of oil after you emerge from your shower or bath. The oil is completely absorbed and your skin feels sliky smooth.
Here in Astoria, we have been having an Artic blast of weather, even had a small amount of snow on the ground this morning! The earliest I have seen snow since moving here six years ago. Cold, cold, nights, in the upper twenties!
I have my winter garden bed covered with two plastic table clothes and uncovering during the day. I don't know how much more of this sub freezing weather the lettuces can take but so far, so good! I am hoping to serve fresh from the garden salad greens for my daughter when she comes in a couple of weeks. Yes, I can buy greens at the store, but this is a mission! LOL
The tobacco plants have finally subcombed to the weather, but have to say, they stayed green and lasted longer than the pepper and tomato plants just a few feet away! I'm impressed!
Finally got a live tree yesterday and we decorated while holiday music played on the TV. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to see my 2 yo grandson's eyes when he sees it in a couple of weeks. It's kinda a Charlie Brown tree and we went up in the woods and harvested it yesterday. It's got a few bends in the trunk and not the fullest tree, but it's filled with lights and ornaments, and dang it, a 2 yo isn't going to care! It's all about the wonderment of the season and the joy of being together.
Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy the season!
Joyce
